In the shadow of the elevated
tracks in the heart of the Fulton Market area of
Chicago, a furniture designer and his business
partner, a large format sculptor, have asked NCA to
design the expansion of their individual residences
and places of work.
Located on two contiguous 25’ x
181’ lots, the expansion doubles the size of the
facility from 10,000 to 20,000 square feet including
office, showroom and two residences. Residences
will be duplex units plus a penthouse space which
leads to large roof decks and green roofs that are
oriented toward views to the Chicago skyline. The
Owners plan on incorporating solar water heating,
photovoltaics for generation of electricity along
with other sustainable features.
